Room for Hire
Booking a Room
The Ipswich Unitarian Meeting House trustees and congregation are keen to welcome people to use our premises. We offer our Upper Hall for hire and the Meeting House is available for specific use for a donation on application to the Trustees.
This is a Grade 2 Listed building with access via an external staircase. There is room for up to 20 people seated for a meeting, limited kitchen facilities and one toilet.
This historic building is used for worship and so all requests to book it will be put to the Trustees for agreement. Details of the purpose of use, name and contact details of the main organiser, information about who the event is intended to be for and about any commercial business planned will need to be presented to the Trustees in writing at least one month before the event.
Although a beautiful building, facilities in the Grade 1 Listed Meeting House are limited by insurance and availability. There is limited disabled access; no toilet facilities within the building (and one toilet accessible across the path in the main hall, by prior arrangement); the upper gallery is out of bounds to children under 16, the heating is limited and the pews are not moveable. There is a sound system available and a small vestry for meetings of fewer than 8 people. Chairs may be set out in the central area. We ask visitors and hirers to respect the peaceful atmosphere.
To book either facility, please contact our warden, Rosemary Hamilton on 01474 215686 or email- email@example.com with details of the dates and times you request and the purpose of hire. Mrs Hamilton will advise on availability and cost.
